The Global Peace Film Festival, or GPFF, was created to establish goals throughout the world that would work towards creating peace. Films have always been a powerful medium in which to spread such goals and ideas. Modern day films have the ability to be translated in many languages which means the effects of films can be felt all over the world. The GPFF gives people the opportunity to meet with various directors, filmmakers and distinguished guests and hear them speak about significant films and also about relevant issues effecting the world we live in.
The ultimate goal is to spread peace throughout the world using films as a means to do so. Rollins is very fortunate to have the headquarters of the GPFF in the great city of Orlando.
Obviously some of the big issues are the loads of things going on in the Middle-East from Iraq, the Taliban, the Turkish elections and Israeli and Palestine officials meeting are and will continue to be popular issues. But people can't forget about things like the Korean hostages to the Taliban, the trapped Chinese miners and the whole global warming epidemic. The GPFF works to spread the word and help accomplish peace through film.
